3. What If I Can't Locate A Usable COM Port?
- Open Windows Device

- If the Ports (COM & LPT) category does not
exist (or if there are no COMX entries displayed), then your computer
does not have a working RS-232 Serial Port:
- If your MicroVib II is connected to the PC via a USB
Connection you need to install a driver to create a virtual COM
port. Driver installation steps are
here.
- If the Ports (COM & LPT) category is shown and
contains COMX entry with the port number outside the
MicroBase Pro supported
range of 1-9:
-
Open the driver properties.
- Select
advanced configuration.
- Select an unused
COM Port number in the appropriate range.
-
If
all of the supported COM Port numbers are in use by other devices (rare), then you will need to
uninstall one or more of the drivers, and then try to reconfigure the
COM Port number again.
